Introduction

The New Forest Butterfly Transect Group was established in 2011 and is now responsible for more than 30 transects across the New Forest.

The group has been given the responsibility for a number of new transects in recent years at the request of Butterfly Conservation, Natural England, The National Trust and the Forestry Commission.

Each transect is walked once per week for 26 weeks from April 1st, by a team of up to 6 walkers. If you would like to join one of these teams or for more information please contact:
