Monks Walk, Frater Fields & Woods, Gosport. With the temperature at 11 degrees Celsius, an hour's walk discovered one Red Admiral in really good condition basking in the sunshine within a sheltered glade at 12:30. The SW wind was very cool and nothing doing in exposed places. So at least two Red Admiral have over-wintered successfully at Monks Walk. (Photo provided but not uploaded). Red Admiral in Winchester. A Red Admiral seen flying in gardens on the sunny side of Vernham Road, Weeke around 1pm when the temperature was about 9degC. [Posted by Bob Whitmarsh]
